Want to pick your own fresh berries and produce?

WNC is home to many local farms that offer a “pick-your-own” opportunity where you can pick apples, berries, veggies, etc. for you and your family and get in on a unique and fun experience!

Often, the farmers will be there to greet you, explain the rules of picking and collect payment. Other times, you’ll be on an honor system with signs to follow. Grab a basket and let the adventure begin!

For fruit lovers, try Flying Cloud Farm in Fairview, NC. (Located 12 miles outside of Asheville on route 74A.) They offer farm tours, workshops, fresh flowers, and fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupes, melons and strawberries to pick. Visit flyingcloudfarm.net for more information.

SkyTop Apple Orchard, located in Flat Rock, offers apples for picking as well as scenic views while you pick! They also offer a barnyard with sheep, goats, chickens, and turkeys; farm tours and hayrides; and picnic areas. Visit skytoporchard.com for directions and details.
