Train buffs, tourists, and families alike will all enjoy a ride on the historic Great Smoky Mountains Railroad.

This 53 mile scenic railroad travels over the Smoky Mountain landscape, through two tunnels and over 25 bridges. The railroad was built in the 1800s by convicts and opened WNC to goods, products, travelers, and salesmen from the northeast. The Railroad was utilized until the mid-80s and was bought by the park in order to preserve the history and heritage of the rails.

Back by popular demand BBQ & Brews Dinner Trains will roll out this Summer! Featuring slow-cooked BBQ prepared fresh and beer tastings showcasing our local breweries! Departing from Bryson City Saturday May 24, June 28, July 12 and August 30 at 7pm.

The railroad is open throughout the year (Jan-Dec). Ticket rates and schedule information can be obtained by calling 800.872.4681 or by visiting gsmr.com.
