This Memorial Day weekend, come to Aloft, the annual weekend festival that fills Simpsonville’s sky with the sight of hot air balloons and the sound of live music.
Throughout the four-day festival, 80 hot air balloons will launch into the skies, many offering rides to guests. The festival is also host to RC aircraft events and a professional slackline competition. There will also be food and drink, crafts, music, rides and more.
More than 50 performers are scheduled to appear in 2014 including: Timeflies and Hot Chelle Rae (May 23), Ashley Monroe and Thompson Square (May 24), The Spin Doctors and Blues Traveler (May 25) and The Catlinas, Lionz of Zion and The Fantastic Shakers (May 26). The event schedule opens May 23 – 4 to 11 p.m.; May 24 – 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.; May 25 – noon to 11 p.m. and May 26 – 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $16-$25 and children under 36” in height admitted free. Heritage Park is located at 861 SE Main Street.
